Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Born on June 26, 1946 in the city of Sarkand, Republic of Kazakhstan In 1968 he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University). 1968-1973 – trainee researcher, postgraduate student of the Department of Physical Chemistry of KazGU. In 1969-1970. served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. In 1973 he defended his PhD thesis. In 1974-1987. worked as a junior, senior researcher, head of the laboratory of physical and chemical research methods of Kazakh State University. In 1981, he was the first among the scientists of Kazakhstan to have a 10-month scientific internship at the University of London (Great Britain). In 1990 he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Structural Macrokinetics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka, Moscow Region. In 1988-1997 - Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion of KazGU. From 1992 to 1998 - Vice-rector for scientific work of KazNU. al-Farabi. In 1997-2001 Head of the Department of Chemical Physics. In 2001-2010 - served as the first vice-rector of KazNU. From 2010 to the present, General Director of the RSE "Institute for Combustion Problems". The area of scientific research is the study of the kinetics and mechanism of combustion of hydrocarbons and the structure of cold and sooty flames, the synthesis and study of nanocarbon materials for various functional purposes. He was the first to discover hydrogen atoms in cold hydrocarbon flames and established oscillatory regimes of temperature and concentration of radicals in cold flames of butane and hexane; a phenomenological model for explaining the oscillatory regime during oxidation is proposed. Author of more than 1000 scientific articles and abstracts, 40 manuals and monographs, more than 90 copyright certificates and patents of the USSR and the Republic of Kazakhstan, including nanomaterials. Organizer and editor-in-chief of the Eurasian chemical-technological journal in English, the journal "Combustion and Plasma Chemistry", a member of the editorial board of the journals: "Bulletin of KazGU (chemical series)", "Physics of combustion and explosion" (Russia), "Engineering and Physical Journal" ( Belarus), International Journal of SHS (USA, Russia)
